Take the Leap!

There has never been more truth to that print than today. Nearly 4 years ago I decided to get a business name and logo for my little jewelry hobby. I had always dreamed about having my own business/boutique but I figured it was unrealistic and nobody actually gets to do what they dreamed about, right?! I didn't really think the hobby would turn into anything more but I knew a great graphic designer and I wanted a reason to work with her. Seriously. 

Later that year I got married and moved to Nipawin, SK. I had a job lined up to work remotely but it ended up falling through. The job opportunities here were seriously lacking which looking back now, I can say that it was for the best. There was obviously another plan in the works. 

When I (we, Kyle & I) decided I'd give business a go, I didn't really have any idea what I was doing. I knew a tiny bit from my previous jobs but when it got down to the nitty gritty, I was lost. Thank goodness for Google. 

Fast forward to today. I've been growing this business, slowly. Like everything, I've had my ups and downs, good days and bad, hit my goals and failed miserably. I get to work from home in my perfectly pink office, wear yoga pants and just do my thing. But an in-person boutique has always been in the back of my mind.

And this month, it became my reality.

I know lots of people have been hearing little whispers so I wanted to officially announce it! I have joined forces with 2 other amazing business owners and we are renting a space downtown Nipawin. We will all be running our individual businesses as well as working together on events, workshops and so much more! And my favourite part, you'll be able to shop AKA in person!

We are currently in the process of making the space beautiful and I won't be officially open until October but I needed to share the exciting news.

Since I'll be packing up my entire office and moving, I want to clear out as much as I can so I don't have to take it to the new studio. So stay tuned for a Moving Sale!

I truly appreciate you for all your support because without you I could never take this massive leap! It's definitely scary but I feel this is a great next step and I can't wait to see where we can take AKA from here!
